Abstract

In a patient group of »underweight« persons, a total of 20 factors of the pregnant status, of the course of pregnancy and birth, as well as of the perinatal birth result, were tested by means of univariate analysis of variance and multivariate analysis of discriminance.

Despite marked complexitiy of the influencing parameters and their interactions, it is shown that it will be approximately sufficient to pay attention to a few parameters to arrive at a comparable objectivation of overall clinical results. It is also evident that conclusions valid for direct obstetric and perinatal medical work cannot be arrived at from retrospective analysis alone.
