Abstract
The clinical course of tuberculous meningitis in an 8 year old boy was complicated by a secondary infection with Candida albicans. The patient was successfully treated by a combined tuberculostatic and fungistatic therapy with 5-fluorocytosine and amphotericin B. Follow up investigations up to 22 months showed no marked residual lesions.
Zusammenfassung
Bei einem 8jährigen Knaben wurde der Verlauf einer tuberculösen Meningitis durch eine Zweitinfektion mit Candida albicans kompliziert. Der Patient konnte durch eine kombinierte tuberculostatische und fungistatische Therapie mit 5-Fluorocytosin und Amphotericin B erfolgreich behandelt werden.
