Zusammenfassung
Die Behandlung von Spätfolgen nach Verbrennungen im Gesichtsbereich wird immer noch
kontrovers diskutiert. Die Autoren stellen eine retrospektive Aufarbeitung von 1516
Fällen aus den Jahren 1967 bis 1987 vor. Bei rein ästhetischen Spätfolgen favorisieren
die Autoren zunächst eine abwartende Einstellung und beginnen mit operativen Korrekturen
erst nach dem „Softening” der Narben. Schwere funktionelle Folgen werden, entsprechend
dem Ausmaß und der Lokalisation, früher operativ angegangen.
Summary
The treatment of the sequelae of facial burns is still a controversial subject. The
authors present a retrospective study of 1516 cases between 1967 and 1987. They suggest
a more conservative approach of the therapy in purely aesthetic lesions. Therefore,
they wait for the “softening” of the scars and start an operative treatment after
the maturation of the collagen connective tissue. Functional sequelae have to be treated
earlier according to their dimension and according to the aesthetic units affected.
