Krankheitskonzepte bei Kindern - Literaturübersicht

Abstract

In this literature review a group of studies concerning illness concepts of children are discussed. Most of these studies are based on one of the three theory models of cognitive development as the main factor of development of illness concepts, the attributional theory (health locus of control) or the health belief model based on health seeking behaviour. The results yillded by these theories are comparable to a limited extent only. The development of children's illness concepts seems to be mainly influenced by age, developmental stage, selfconsciousness and family ties.

Zusammenfassung

Die vorliegende Literaturübersicht versucht die empirischen Arbeiten zum Krankheitskonzept bei Kindern drei unterschiedlichen Theoriemodellen zuzuordnen. Die systematische Einteilung berücksichtigt folgende methodische Ansätze der Krankheitskonzeptforschung: Krankheitskonzepte zu der von Piaget entwickelten Entwicklungstheorie, das attributionstheoretische Modell und das verhaltensorientierte Health Belief Model. Diese drei Ansätze scheinen nur bedingt vergleichbar zu sein. Wie Kreuzvalidierungsversuche zeigen, scheinen Krankheitskonzepte bei Kindern sowohl krankheitsspezifisch als auch multifaktoriell determiniert zu sein, wobei Variablen wie Alter, Entwicklungsstand, Selbstbewußtsein sowie familiären Strukturen eine entscheidende Bedeutung zukommt.
