Rosai-Dorfman Disease with Breast Involvement

Abstract

The authors present a case of Rosai-Dorfman disease with breast involvement. The initial diagnosis was breast malignancy with metastatic deposits in the axillary lymph nodes. The correct diagnosis was only made after a second histological investigation was carried out with immunohistochemical determination of S-100 protein and CD68. Rosai-Dorfman disease is a rare, benign histiocytic proliferation disorder.

Zusammenfassung

Es wird ein Fall von Rosai-Dorfman-Erkrankung vorgestellt mit Befall der Brust. Zunächst lautet die Diagnose auf eine maligne Erkrankung der Brust mit Metastasen in den Achsellymphknoten. Die richtige Diagnose wurde erst gestellt nach einer zweiten histologischen Untersuchung mit immunhistochemischer Bestimmung von S-100-Protein und CD68. Die Rosai-Dorfman-Erkrankung ist eine seltene, in der Regel gutartig verlaufende Sinushistiozytose.
