Einzelfallstudie und evidenzbasierte Praxis im Vergleich

Der derzeitige hohe Stellenwert evidenzbasierter Medizin in der gesetzlichen Gesundheitsversorgung in Großbritannien stellt die psychiatrische Pflege vor die Notwendigkeit, ihre pflegerischen Ansätze zu begründen. Die bislang unangefochten gültigen psychologischen Theorien als Bezugspunkt werden nun durch die neue Definition von Nachweisbarkeit infrage gestellt. Die Autoren des vorliegenden Artikels setzen sich einerseits mit der Eignung von Einzelfallstudien und andererseits mit der Anwendungsgültigkeit der von medizinischer Seite empfohlenen Evidenzhierarchie auf Theorie und Praxis in der psychiatrischen Pflege auseinander. Der Stellenwert von Fallstudien als wichtigster Evidenzquelle wird erörtert und für die psychiatrische Gesundheitspflege in Forschung und Praxis begründet.
