Summary
A 58-year-old woman with a mesothelial cyst of the diaphragm showed high level of
serum Tissue Polypeptide Antigen (TPA) and cyst fluid TPA. Mesothelial cells of the
cyst may excrete TPA and TPA was accumulated in the cysts. The measurement of tumor
marker such as TPA of the serum or of the content of the cyst is useful in observation
of the clinical course.
Zusammenfassung
Es wird über eine 58 jährige Patientin mit einer mesothelialen Zyste des Zwerchfells
berichtet. Es waren sowohl die Serum-TPA-Spiegel als auch die TPA-Spiegel aus der
Zystenflüssigkeit stark erhöht. Wir schließen daraus, daß die mesothelialen Zellen
in der Lage sind, TPA zu exkretieren und in die Zyste abzugeben. Die Messung von Tumormarkern,
wie z. B. TPA im Serum und der Zystenflüssigkeit, ist somit zur klinischen Verlaufskontrolle
sinnvoll.
