Summary

Gonadotropins and prolactin were measured in 59 amenorrhoic pat. with highly different weights before and after i.v. administration of 25 μg LHRH and 10 mg metoclopramide. Prolactin levels did neither differ basally nor after stimulation. Body weight and LH levels were correlated by r = 0.63. This correlation was not caused by different estradiol levels.

A postulated influence of low body weight on catecholestrogen formation could not be inferred by effective changes in dopamine metabolism.
