Summary
After sternotomy for prosthetic repair of the ascending aorta and replacement of the
aortic valve with a bioprosthesis in a 70-year-old woman local wound infection doveloped.
Preliminary conservative treatment did not succeed. Because of the high risk for the
patient due to local infection and partial exposure of the aortic prosthesis thore
was an indication for local flap surgery. Both healing of the infection and covering
the prosthesis was achieved using a sternocleidomastoideus muscle flap.
Zusammenfassung
Es wird über einen septischen Weichteil- und Knochendefekt im Manubrium-sterni-Bereich
nach Sternotomie und prothetischem Aortenersatz bei einer 70jährigen Patientin berichtet.
Die besondere Gefährdung der Patientin ergab sich sowohl aus dem lokalen Infekt als
auch aus dem partiellen Freiliegen der Aortenprothese. Die Defektdeckung und Infektsanierung
konnte durch einen kaudal gestielten Sternocleidomastoideus-Schwenklappen erzielt
werden.
