Stimmlippenlähmung und Cricoarytaenoidankylose nach Intubation stellen sich in indirekter Laryngoskopie gleich dar. Die sichere Differentialdiagnose ergibt sich mit der Elektromyographie. Aber auch andere laryngoskopisch und stroboskopisch zu erhebende Befunde lassen die Entscheidung für eines der beiden Störungsbilder zu. Es wird ein einfaches diagnostisches und therapeutisches Vorgehen angegeben, mit dem die Beweglichkeit im ankylosierten Gelenk bei vielen Patienten wieder erreicht werden kann.

Vocal cord paralysis and ankylosis of the cricoarytenoid joint following endotracheal intubation display the same pattern in indirect laryngoscopy. Safe differential diagnosis is possible via electromyographic examination. However, other laryngoscopic and stroboscopic findings also enable a decision for one of the two disorders. A simple diagnostic and therapeutic procedure is demonstrated to regain normal morbility of the cricoarytenoid joint in many patients.
