Zusammenfassung

Fortschritte in der Therapie verlangen eine möglichst frühzeitige Diagnose des Landry-Guillain-Barré-Sydromes sowie drohender Komplikationen. Besondere diagnostische Schwierigkeiten können bei zusätzlich bestehender Hirnstammsymptomatik auftreten. Am Beispiel einer Kasuistik wird die klinische Symptomatologie und der aktuelle Erfahrungsstand über die Behandlung unter besonderer Berücksichtigung intensivmedizinischer Gesichtspunkte erörtert.

Summary

Recent progress in the treatment of the Guillain-Barré syndrome requires early diagnosis and recognition of possible complications expecially due to functional disturbances of the autonomic nervous system. Diagnosis and treatment with special regard to intensive care conditions are discussed.
