Das Capgras-Symptom

Abstract

The Capgras Symptom is a clinical condition in which a patient believes that a person closely related to him has been replaced by a double or impostor. Clinical and psychopathological aspects of this rare phenomenon are discussed by representing four cases and reviewing the literature. The Capgras Symptom is most commonly associated with a psychotic disorder either on the basis of a cerebral dysfunction or on the basis of a functional psychosis alone. The delusional misidentification is usually followed by a consecutive explanation in form of a external attribution.

Zusammenfassung

Mit dem Begriff Capgras-Symptom bezeichnet man die Überzeugung einer Person, daß ein Bekannter - meist ein nächster Angehöriger - durch einen Doppelgänger ersetzt worden ist. Anhand von vier eigenen Falldarstellungen und der Literatur werden Klinik, Psychopathologie und formale Abgrenzungen des relativ seltenen Krankheitsbildes diskutiert. Das Capgras-Symptom tritt zumeist im Rahmen einer psychotischen Grunderkrankung mit oder ohne hirnorganische Basis auf. Der wahnhaften Wahrnehmung, eine vertraute Person sei andersartig oder fremd, folgt stets eine konsekutive Begründung in Form einer external kausalen Attribuierung.
