Durch die Politur von temporären Kronen und Brücken im zahntechnischen Labor werden gute Oberflächenqualitäten erzeugt. Doch es besteht immer die Gefahr einer Kreuzkontamination durch die verwendeten Poliermittel. Durch die Chairside-Bearbeitung mit verschiedenen Silikonpolierern lassen sich demgegenüber ebenfalls akzeptable Oberflächenqualitäten erzeugen.
Der Einsatz von speziellen, zweilagigen Formteilen ermöglicht bei hoher Langlebigkeit und sicherer Anwendung auch bei umfangreichen provisorischen Restaurationen eine sichere Wiedergabe der angestrebten vertikalen Relation.
When polishing temporary restorations in the dental laboratory, good surface quality can be achieved. However, there is the danger of cross contamination caused by soiled lab pumice. Acceptable surface quality can also be produced by the use of special silicon polishers. The use of a customized bi-layered template for the chairside manufacturing of temporary restorations is predictable and simple. Even in complex situations and after a long time in function, an exact reproduction of the desired vertical dimension can be realized.
