Abstract

Two new (3, 4) and two known (1, 2) genuine acylated bisdesmosidic triterpenoid glycosides of polygalacic acid (2β,3β,16α,23-tetrahydroxyolean-12-en-28-oic acid) were isolated from the aerial parts, as well as from the roots, of Solidago virgaurea L. subsp. virgaurea. The structures of these esters were elucidated as 4-O-fucopyranosyl-acylated compounds (1, 2, 3, 4) of 28-[O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→3)-O-β-D-xylopyranosyl-(1→4)-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-β-D-fucopyranosyl]-glycosides of 3-O-[β-D-glucopyranosyl]-polygalacic acid (5), and 3-O-[β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→3)-β-D-glucopyranosyl]-polygalacic acid (6).
