Abstract

A new withanolide, 6α,7α-epoxy-5α,17β-dihydroxy-1-oxowitha-2,24-dienolide, together with the known compounds withanolide A and withanone have been isolated from the roots of Discopodium penninervium. The identity of the new compound was established from spectroscopic data.
