Objectives: To evaluate the different forms of presentation in cognitive and behavioral problemas in paediatric epilepsy and the impact over the treatment desition and improvement in development.

Methods: We evaluate a 132 paeditric patients with epilepsy in the neurology department of the Hospital Infantil de Mexico. Posterior a clinical and physical evaluation we proceed to perform a neuropshycological evaluation (Conner's test, IQ performance, ADHD rating scale) and compare the results with type of epilepsy, neuroimaging and EEG results.

Results: 84 males and 48 females with either partial epilepsies (73%) or generalized epilepsies (27%). The mean age of develop epilepsy was 5 years, and all are treated at least with one antiepileptic drug. The mean IQ was 82, more affected in the generalized group. The average results inf Conner's and ADHD-RS were better for the partial group. The generalized group have the poor academic performance and more inattention symptoms. The ADHD was more frequently seen in partial seizures and most frequent type was the combined.

Conclusion: The global evaluation of the paediatric epilepsy group is very important for analyze the probabilities to help these childs with therapeutic and pharmacological approaches. The ADHD is a frequent comorbid association, but different for a multiple reports in literature, the combined type is more frequent, but a lot of these patients have inattention secondary a multiple factor etiology.
