Zusammenfassung
Zahlreiche amerikanische Homöopathen, unter ihnen C. Hering und J. T. Kent, waren Mitglied der auf den Lehren des schwedischen Gelehrten und Mystikers Emanuel Swedenborg (1688-1772) basierenden "New Church". Über den Einfluß, den das Gedankengut Swedenborgs auf die damalige Entwicklung von Praxis und Lehre der Homöopathie und damit letztlich auch auf wesentliche Bereiche der heutigen klassischen Homöopathie nahm, ist erstaunlicherweise wenig bekannt. Es gibt jedoch deutliche Hinweise, daß dieser Einfluß, insbesondere bei Kent, nicht unerheblich war.
Summary
Several American homoeopaths, among them C. Hering and J. T. Kent, were members of the "New Church", which is based on the theories of the Swedish scholar and mystic Emanuel Swedenborg (1688-1772). Amazingly, it is known very little about the influence, which the body of thought of Swedenborg had on the development of practice and theories of homoeopathy at that time and, as a result, on importantareasoftoday's classic homoeopathy. There are definite indications however, that there has been a considerable influence, especially in the case of Kent.
