Summary

The oral cavity shows in general an aerobe and anaerobe bacterial flora, which shows a physiological balance of the various species. The classical methods for the reduction of bacterial flora and oral disinfection is the use of oral rinses. The pharmaceutical treatment is performed by systemic or local administered antibiotics. An innovative and very efficient method for the therapy of especially topic bacterial infections in the oral cavity is the anti-microbiological photodynamic treatment. The procedure is performed by a topic administration for bacterial or candida infection.
