Complications of Middle Fossa Approach
The middle fossa approach has been the more frequent technique in our Institute during the last 35 years for vestibular neurectomy, small acoustic neuromas, primary cholesteatoma, facial nerve problems in the geniculate area, and so on.
After 1500 operations by this approach the incidence of complications has been very low and we will present the more frequent problems.
Long surgical experience and short retraction time of the temporal lobe are very important in the results and avoiding complications.
