A 25-year experience with craniofacial resection for tumors of the nose and paranasal
sinuses has allowed us to ascertain that some malignant tumors, such as olfactory
neuroblastoma, are worthwhile retreating if disease recurs. A second or even third
craniofacial procedure and additional radiotherapy can usefully prolong a patient's
life. However, a case will be presented where further reoperation has led to a debatable
outcome with regard to longevity of life versus quality of life.
