Traumatische Kindheit - ihre Folgen für das Erwachsenenleben

Zusammenfassung

Dieser Übersichtsartikel stellt wesentliche Befunde und Arbeiten zu Langzeiteffekten frühkindlicher Belastungen und traumatischer Einflüsse zusammenfassend dar. Es werden wichtige neuere epidemiologische, entwicklungspsychologische und neurobiologische Forschungsergebnisse referiert und in ihrer sozial- und gesundheitspolitischen Bedeutung beleuchtet. Aus heutiger Sicht konvergieren die vorliegenden Befunde der verschiedenen Forschungsrichtungen dahingehend, dass aversive psychosoziale (früh-)kindliche Belastungen innerhalb des primären Beziehungsraumes eine bleibend abgesenkte Stress-/Angstschwelle des Stress verarbeitenden Systems und damit eine aversiv veränderte unbewusste Wahrnehmung und Bewertung potenziell belastender sozialer Stressoren im späteren Leben bewirken. Hierdurch kommt es zu einer erhöhten Anfälligkeit für verschiedene psychische/psychosomatische Erkrankungen wie z. B. Persönlichkeitsstörungen, Angsterkrankungen oder somatoforme Störungen. Moduliert werden diese Einflüsse sowohl durch psychosozial vermittelte Schutzfaktoren wie auch durch erbgenetische Dispositionen.
