Homeopathic provings in Brazil

Homöopathische Arzneimittelprüfungen in BrasilienM Marim 1
  • 1Campinas/São Paulo, Brazil

This presentation is a continuation of the work presented at the 54th LHMI Congress in Salvador, Brazil, 1999. The pathogenetic trials by Brazilian colleagues during the last 30 years mark the resuscitation of homeopathy in Brazil.

For this period we have data of:

  • long term provings with extensively elaborated protocols,

  • short experiments with simplified protocols,

  • simple provings named sensorials by the groups developing them.

Included are the provings that were published or presented at congresses. Many others carried out with more limited aims (such as verification of peculiar aspects of a specific medication or education of homeopathic doctors) are not included.

Within the last two years it was not possible to perform a new proving at national level but we conducted one in 2 small groups (with 12 and 9 provers). Protocols and symptoms will be presented at the end of our presentation.

In addition to former provings new information about the remedies will be given (symptoms observed in clinical cases and in new provings etc.). And with regard to the new proving we will present a list of the symptoms that were considered important and reliable by the performing groups.

The experience gained during the last 30 years will be considered and a comparative picture of the protocols will be presented as well as interviews with provers and group directors.
