Summary
The first case shows that a cure is as wide, long and deep as the totality pursued
in the case taking. Previous remedies chosen on the acute state had worked for this
patient, but only for a short while. To effect deeper, longer-lasting treatment -
possibly a ‘cure’ - we need to gather all the threads in the case and ensure that
the theme or sensation on which we base the prescription runs through both the physical
and the emotional state. A really deep cure will happen when we see the present case
reflected in the parental cases or situation, because then we are relieving the patient
at the miasmatic level - and this is the genetic level. The second case shows the
journey taken by the patient and the homœopath towards cure. It shows how I refined
my first good prescription to an even better, more fitting remedy. And beyond that
was another twist in the path and a third remedy. Disease and Cure have a rhythm and
pace. The homœopath and the patient are on their discrete journeys. When their paths
cross, energy and information are exchanged. When the time is right, very deep cures
are the result. What I learned from this case is that time is not linear, but is one
of the threads in the braid of a case.
