Zusammenfassung
Die Autoren präsentieren die seltene Kasuistik eines Patienten mit Pseudomyxoma peritonei,
das sich als späte Komplikation nach Appendektomie herausbildete und endgültig 11
Jahre nach der Appendektomie wegen Appendixmukozele diagnostiziert wurde. Im Artikel
weisen sie auf die Notwendigkeit hin, bei seltenen Befunden alle zugänglichen Informationen
über den Patienten auch retrospektiv zu überprüfen.
Abstract
The authors present the case of a very rare pseudomyxoma peritonei as a late complication
of appendectomy. The definite diagnosis was established 11 years after appendectomy
for appendiceal mucocele. In the paper the authors emphasize the need for correct
retrospective evaluation of all data in patients with unusual diagnoses.
