In seinem anatomischen Artikel “Aufbau und Funktion des Peritoneums” beschreibt Rainer Breul die embryologische Entwicklung der Bauchhöhle, zeigt die anatomischen Besonderheiten des Bauchfells auf und erläutert dessen Versorgung, Regenerationsfähigkeit und Abwehrfunktion.

There is hardly any abdominal diagnostic or therapeutic procedure that would not affect the peritoneum. In his anatomical review on the “morphology and function of the abdomen”, Rainer Breul describes the embryonic development of the abdominal cavity, illustrates the anatomical characteristics of the peritoneum, and explains its supply, ability to regenerate, and immun functions.
