Karpaltunnelsyndrom

Zusammenfassung

Das Karpaltunnelsyndrom ist das häufigste Kompressionssyndrom. Es entsteht infolge einer Druckschädigung des N. medianus im Karpalkanal am Handgelenk. Die Manifestation beschränkt sich nicht nur auf die Hand und schließt nicht selten proximale Regionen der oberen Extremität mit ein. Klinisches Bild, die ätiologische Vielfalt, Pathogenese, diagnostische Kriterien sowie mögliche Therapiemaßnahmen werden aufgezeigt und besprochen.

Abstract

The carpal tunnel syndrome represents the most commonly encountered disturbance of all entrapment phenomena. It represents those manifestations of compression of the media nerve at the wrist at the side of the transverse carpal ligament. The manifestations are not only related to the hand, but may involve the more proximal regions of the upper extremity. Clinical symptoms and signs, aetiology, pathogenesis, diagnostic criteria as well as treatment of the carpal tunnel syndrome are discussed.
