Zusammenfassung
Die Anwendung odontoskopischer Verfahren bereichert die implantologische, oralchirurgische
und parodontalchirurgische Therapie sowohl im Hinblick auf die qualitätskontrollierenden
Maßnahmen als auch im Hinblick auf die Nutzung neuer minimalinvasiver Zugangswege.
Sie erlaubt für die Zukunft eine Verbesserung der Therapiequalität bei gleichzeitiger
Reduktion der Invasivität. Während odontoskopisch kontrollierte Verfahren nur einen
relativ geringen Trainingsaufwand für den Operateur erfordern und zumeist sofort in
die Praxis integrierbar sind, sind odontoskopisch assistierte Verfahren ohne ein intensives
klinisches Training nicht umsetzbar und bedürfen künftig einer systematischen Ausbildung.
Die International Society of Odontoscopy - ISO - unterstützt diese Ausbildung durch
ein umfassendes theoretisches und praktisches Weiterbildungsangebot.
Summary
Odontoscopic procedures in dentistry improve existing treatment options in implantology,
oral surgery and periodontology. Endoscopy in dentistry is performed with specially
designed support and irrigation shafts to allow the support of the endoscope on hard
tissues of the oral cavity, focusing of the optical window and cleaning of the surgical
field with an irrigation system. The following odontoscopic techniques currently are
used: Coronoscopy to visualize details of the crown surface, pulposcopy to assist
the identification of root canals, parodontoscopy to diagnose pathologies of the periodontal
and periimplant tissues, alveoloscopy for examination of the alveolus after tooth
extraction, osteoscopy to determine the bone structure before implant placement and
subantroscopy to assist sinus floor augmentation. Odontoscopic control may be applied
during tooth extraction, osteotomies, apicectomy, implant insertion and implant exposure.
Odontoscopically assisted surgery currently is used in subantoscopic sinus floor augmentation,
paracrestal tunnel augmentation procedures and the treatment of periimplantitis.
