Gregory Institute of Aesthetic Surgery, Celebration, FL Recommend Article Abstract Buy Article ABSTRACT Perioral rejuvenation made a significant advance when a CO2 laser became available approximately 10 years ago. This largely replaced deeper chemical peels and dermabrasion. Improvement in the skin quality and perioral rhytids has not been without its difficulties, however. Newer lasers and technology are becoming available to improve the quality of the lip skin while minimizing many of the disadvantages of the CO2 laser resurfacing. Laser hair reduction also contributes to the improved appearance of the perioral area.
