ABSTRACT
Traditionally, facelifts have been reserved for "older" patients and regarded as procedures to "repair" a well established and easily identified advanced aging deformity. As techniques have improved and attitudes have shifted, many patients are now requesting procedures to rejuvenate the face at a "younger" age with the goal of maintaining a youthful appearance. This article defines the elements of the early aging deformity of the face, discusses the anatomic basis of these problems, and describes a logical approach to correcting them.
