Als Gentherapie wird das Einschleusen von genetischem Material in Körperzellen mit therapeutischem oder präventivem Nutzen für das Individuum bezeichnet. Im Folgenden werden die aktuellen Konzepte der Gentherapie und die Anwendungsmöglichkeiten bei hereditären Lebererkrankungen dargestellt.
