ABSTRACT

Technical management of multisite live case transmissions using integrated services digital network (ISDN) connections is discussed on the basis of experience from two interventional conferences in which there were 18 hours of live case transmissions from 16 international sites and 35 live procedures were demonstrated. The discussion is divided into several areas that include equipment for transmissions, arrangement of equipment at both the transmission and receiving sites, required network connections, connection setup and testing, transmission production, and needed personnel and transmission costs.
