Zusammenfassung

Sowohl in der Gynäkologie als auch in der Geburtshilfe sind Harnwegsinfektionen und postoperative Infektionen im Operationsgebiet die häufigsten krankenhauserworbenen Infektionen [28] [31]. Die erste repräsentative Prävalenzstudie (NIDEP-Studie) in Deutschland ergab bei 32/2206 (1,45 %) Patientinnen und Schwangeren eine oder mehrere nosokomiale Infektionen. Dabei kamen Harnwegsinfektionen bei 20, Sepsis und Vaginitis jeweils bei 3 Patientinnen vor [20]. Die Prävention dieser Infektionen entspricht weitgehend denen in anderen operativen und nicht operativen Fachgebieten [11]. In der folgenden Übersicht wird daher besonders auf die für die Gynäkologie und Geburtshilfe spezifischen Infektionskontrollprobleme eingegangen. Dabei werden auch nicht sinnvolle Hygienemaßnahmen behandelt, die wie Rituale ohne Begründung durch wissenschaftliche Daten oder zumindest durch plausible Analogieschlüsse tradiert werden.

Abstract

Urinary tract infections and surgical site infections are the most common nosocomial infections in obstetrics and gynecology. A prevalence study (NIDEP study) in Germany showed one or more nosocomial infections in 32 (1.45 %) of 2206 gynecologic and obstetric patients. Twenty of these patients had urinary tract infections, three had vaginitis, and three had septicemia. Infection control procedures are based on the same principles as in other medical and surgical disciplines. This review focuses on infection control measures specific to obstetrics and gynecology and evaluates traditional but often unproven infection control measures.
