ABSTRACT
Audiologists have traditionally focused their attention on the technical aspects of fitting hearing aids. Patients, however, often need additional help to cope with living with their hearing impairments and to adjust to daily life with their personal amplification instruments. This article describes a formalized group aural rehabilitation program in place at the HEARx network-hearing centers located in 78 locations in four states. Approximately 20,000 patients participate in the Hearing Education and Listening Program (H.E.L.P.) annually.
