Functionalised alkylidenecyclopropanes undergo efficient intermolecular Pauson-Khand reactions to give bi- and tricyclic skeletons with preservation of a spirocyclic cyclopropyl unit. The observed regio- and stereoselectivities are, in part, determined by the nature of these substituents.
