Allylation of ethyl 4,4,4-trifluoroacetoacetate was carried out by reaction with allylic acetates, carbonates or alcohols in the presence of a palladium catalyst to give ethyl 2-allyl-4,4,4-trifluoroacetoacetates in good yield.
