(2S,4E,6R,8S)-8-tert-Butyldiphenylsiloxy-2,4,6-trimethyl-4- nonenoic acid amide derivative 3a, the non-peptide C1-C9 moiety of the novel cyclodepsipeptides, jaspamide and geodiamolide A-F was synthesized from ethyl (S)-(-)-lactate.
