A combination of metalation, copper-catalysed migratory insertion reactions, and nickel-catalysed coupling reactions can be used to introduce two new C-C bonds or one C-C and one C-metal bond onto the enol carbarnate moiety of 4-hydroxy-1-en-1-ol carbamates.
