Diethyl (2,3-epoxy-4-oxoalkyl)phosphonates are rearranged to the new diethyl (2,4-dioxoalkyl)phosphonates by means of catalytic amounts of tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(0) and 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane.
