Surgical Video: Endoscopic Nasopharyngectomy and Carotid Artery Resection for Recurrent Undifferentiated Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma
We present a surgical video of a 41-year-old patient treated 5 years ago with neoadjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy for undifferentiated nasopharyngeal carcinoma with cervical metastases. Recent imaging and biopsy confirmed recurrence in the choanal arch, right tubal torus, and an ipsilateral level IB lymph node. We performed endoscopic rhinopharyngectomy and neck dissection. Histopathology revealed involvement of the carotid lacerum segment. Subsequently, we performed embolization followed by endoscopic resection of the affected carotid artery segment.
