Abstract

Zusammenfassung

Die notfallmedizinische Versorgung von schwangeren Traumapatientinnen ist ein seltenes Einsatzszenario. Das Rettungsteam muss sich mit 2 Patienten auseinandersetzen – der Mutter und dem ungeborenen Kind. Erschwerend tritt hinzu, dass für den Notfallmediziner die Versorgung schwangerer Patientinnen häufig keine Routinetätigkeit darstellt. In dieser Situation ist ein strukturiertes Vorgehen in der Patientenversorgung, unter Beachtung der graviditätsspezifischen Besonderheiten, essenziell.

Abstract

The management and treatment of pregnant trauma patients is a rare scenario in the prehospital setting. In addition to this, the fact that the emergency services must deal with two patients – the mother and the unborn child – poses an extraordinary challenge. Furthermore, emergency physicians are rarely specialized in “obstetrics and gynaecology” and the care of pregnant women is hardly a routine activity. In this situation a structured approach to such patients, considering the peculiarities, is essential. This article presents a structured examination and treatment of pregnant trauma patients in prehospital surroundings. Relevant physiological changes in pregnancy and the resulting modifications of emergency procedures are explained. In addition, consequences of pregnancy-specific injuries are discussed.
