Summary
Accurate designing of a local flap is specially important in case of pressure ulcers,
in order to avoid unnecessary encroachment on the donor areas for futre flaps. The
size, shape and exact location of sacral ulcer in relation to midline varies but the
transverse back flap despite its constant shape and pedicle can be accurately designed
to suit all ulcers. Based on our experience a method for exact geometric design of
the transverse back flap is being described.
