Abstract

Allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA) is a fungal lung infection that primarily affects patients with bronchial asthma, cystic fibrosis, and those who are immunocompromised. Patients typically present with symptoms such as cough, dyspnea, pleuritic chest pain, and blood-stained sputum or hemoptysis, often with a history of uncontrolled asthma. This case report describes a 22-year-old female patient with ABPA and bronchial asthma, presenting with a two-year history of cough, dyspnea, and hemoptysis. The patient's condition improved successfully within six months of homoeopathic treatment using Phosphorus, with repetition as needed. The improvement was evaluated using the Asthma Quality of Life Questionnaire with standardized activities, revealing marked improvement in symptoms and quality of life after homoeopathic intervention.

Note

The following case report presents clinical improvement primarily based on subjective parameters, such as patient-reported relief and changes in emotional and physical well-being. While such outcomes are valuable–especially in the context of individualized homeopathic care–readers are encouraged to interpret the findings within the limitations of non-objective measures and the absence of quantifiable biomarkers.

It is also noteworthy that Phosphorus 200C, a deep-acting constitutional remedy, was repeated more frequently than is typically recommended in classical homeopathic practice. This approach may raise questions regarding posology. However, the prescribing physician's clinical judgment was based on the patient's consistent responsiveness and the nature of the symptoms presented.

We publish such cases to contribute to ongoing debate around remedy repetition, case management, and the role of subjective outcomes in clinical decision-making. Readers are encouraged to reflect critically on the case while considering the broader spectrum of homeopathic prescribing principles.
