Silk Vista for Distal Cerebral Aneurysm Treatment: Uppsala Experience and Review of Literature

Introduction: Advances in flow diversion stent technology have led to the development of newer stents designed to treat intracranial aneurysms in small, distal vessels. This case series reports clinical experience using the Silk Vista Baby with review of the literature.

Method(s): All patients who underwent treatment with Silk Vista Baby at the Uppsala University Hospital between October 2018 and January 2022 were identified. Aneurysm characteristics, intraprocedural technical outcomes, periprocedural complications, modified Rankin Scale (mRS) at discharge, and angiographic results at 6-month follow-up were collected.

Result(s): A total of 38 patients were retrospectively identified. A total of 12 patients had subarachnoid hemorrhage. Mortality, adverse device-related events included side branch occlusion and in-stent thrombosis will presented. Angiography follow-up and review of literature will be presented.

Conclusion(s): This case series showed that the Silk Vista Baby FD is safe technically and feasible to use in patients with aneurysms in small, distal vessels. Additional randomized, prospective studies still need to be conducted.
