Global IR Juniors Summit: Two-Year Experience of Connecting IR Trainees Across the Globe

Introduction: Global IR Juniors is a collaboration among trainees from IR societies worldwide; PAIRS: Pan-Arab Interventional Radiology, CIRSE: Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology Society of Europe, SIR: Society of Interventional Radiology RFS, and BSIR: British Society of Interventional Radiology.

Method(s): Inaugural Global IR Juniors Summit 2021; hosted by PAIRS on a virtual platform in July 2021. The program was: Trainee Committees, IR juniors World Tour, IR training, Keynote Lecture, IR training opportunities and Student and Junior Forum. Global IR Juniors Summit 2022; Hosted by CIRSE on a virtual platform in July 2022. The program was: Trainee Committees, Day-in-the-life, Keynote Lecture, Building Global IR and Rising Stars. Summit registration, attendance, and post-attendance survey were evaluated.

Result(s): Global IR juniors summit 2021: 1,682 registered, 627 attended from 64 countries. “IR training Opportunities around the World” was the most attended session. Global IR Juniors Summit 2022: 630 people registered, 241 attended. The highest rated session was “Day-in-the Life: IRs around the world “(4.48/5).

Conclusion(s): National IR trainee groups, which represent their interventional societies worldwide, have an integral role in promoting IR globally through collaboration and joint initiatives.
