Introduction: Applications of robotic ablation include standardize care, increased accuracy, reduced needle movements, reduced radiation to the patient and operator, in complex cases—placing needles near risky structures, in overlapping planes, and in situations with long distance and angulation to target.

Method(s): Our literature review summarizes the latest evidence, data, and trials on the available robots employed in ablation and their advantages and disadvantages. Perfint, Quantum, IMACTIS, and CASCINATION are some of the robotic models/products currently employed in interventional oncology. Each of these robotic products provides great advantages but also provides scope for nuances wherein new technological tweaks can further improve the experience and functionality.

Result(s): Robotic ablation models/products have demonstrated several advantages including reduced radiation dose to patient and operator, reduced needle repositioning and procedure time, easy to learn, and increased needle placement accuracy. Ultrasound, fusion imaging, and AI integrated robots are the future.

Conclusion(s): The future of interventional oncology is combining the fusion imaging and interventional techniques that are rapidly emerging with the constant advances in robotic technologies.
