Introduction: To evaluate value of image-guided thermal ablation in interventional oncology for small tumors among oncological community.

Method(s): Me and my team performed 18 cases and 24 nodules of image-guided percutaneous lung ablation between January 2019 and November 2022. We reviewed all patients who underwent percutaneous thermal ablation. Patient demographics, major and minor complications, success of procedure, and outcomes were recorded. Technique effectiveness was evaluated postablation monthly.

Result(s): Of 24 lung ablations, 3 were performed to treat primary lesions and 21 nodules of metastasis. The median tumor size was 2.4 cm (range, 1.6–4.4 cm). Technical success rate was documented in all 18 cases. Local tumor progression occurred in 3 lesions within median range of 10 months.

Conclusion(s): Image-guided percutaneous thermal ablation of lung tumors including primary and metastatic nodules can be good gadget and one of treatment choice in selected patients with very less complications.
