ABSTRACT

Individualization i. e. risk stratifying personalized therapy has become more and more common in oncology. Resulting risk stratified pathways are focussing more or less on geneticially predictives and metabolism of therapeuticals. Geriatric assessment and its tools to evaluate functional status, cognition, mobility, nutrition status and depression are not yet established as part of personalized medicine. This report shows evidence that geriatric assessment should be part of risk stratifying and personalizing regimens in geriatric oncology giving also an overview of common geriatric assessment tools with special view on delegation to assisting personal staff.
