Zusammenfassung
Es wird der Fall einer Hündin mit einem inoperablen Milztumor während ihrer letzten Lebenswochen beschrieben. Die Patientin konnte mit einer Kombination von Akupunktur, Mykotherapie und Bachblüten für einige Zeit stabilisiert und ihre Lebensqualität verbessert werden. Dies gab dem Patientenbesitzer ausreichend Zeit, um die unvermeidbare Euthanasie zu akzeptieren. Die Einsatzmöglichkeiten alternativer Konzepte für die veterinärmedizinische palliative Begleitbehandlung bei Tierpatienten werden diskutiert.
Summary
The article describes the treatment of a female dog suffering from an inoperable tumour of the spleen during the last weeks of her life. The combination of acupuncture, mycotherapy and Bach flowers made it possible to stabilise the patient for some time and to give her more quality of life. This meant enough time for the owner to accept the unavoidable euthanasia. Moreover, the article discusses the usefulness of alternative concepts in the accompanying treatment of palliative patients in veterinary medicine.
