Zusammenfassung

Bei einem bereits bestehenden frontal offenen Biss können das Distalisieren der Oberkiefermolaren über Vorkontakte im posterioren Bereich sowie die Oberkieferexpansion über extrudierte palatinale Höcker als unerwünschte Nebenwirkung eine weitere Bissöffnung im anterioren Bereich hervorrufen.

Der Vorteil bei der vorliegenden Behandlung mit Invisalign ist, dass diesem unerwünschten Nebeneffekt durch eine zeitgleich stattfindende Intrusion der Molaren entgegengewirkt werden kann - diese führt darüber hinaus zu einer Autoration des Unterkiefers. In Kombination mit einer geringfügigen Extrusion der Unterkieferschneidezähne kann so der frontal offene Biss erfolgreich geschlossen werden.

Abstract

In case of an open bite in the front, distalisation of the upper molars - which often leads to primary contacts in the posterior region - as well as the expansion of the upper jaw - which causes an extrusion of the palatal cusps - can result as a negative side effect in a further opening of the bite. The positive effect of the treatment of this malocclusion with invisalign is that to counteract this undesired side effect, a simultaneous intrusion of the molars can be performed - which in addition leads to a counter-clockwise rotation of the mandible. In combination with little extrusion of the lower front teeth the anterior open bite can be successfully corrected.
