Abstract

The therapeutic use of medically effective mushrooms has been well known in Traditional Chinese Medicine for thousands of years. In Western medicine, mycotherapy is also increasingly used. Medicinal mushrooms contain a large number of active ingredients. Accordingly, the therapeutic spectrum is very broad. They have immuno-modulating properties and can be a helpful therapeutic option in the case of increased susceptibility to infections, autoimmune diseases, or allergies.
